Lenny Thomas | Michael

Leonard Douglas Thomas, affectionately known as “Lenny”, is an American actor born and raised in New York City. He honed his craft studying under James Brill at New York's Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theater. Thomas found his passion for acting after his childhood dream to play professional football was ended when he was hit by a car at age 13. His pursuit of acting has given him strength, peace, and the appreciation for living a life of abundance.  Recent credits include RUTHLESS on BET+, THE ENEMY WITHING on NBC, and THE BLACKLIST on NBC. Miriam Agwai | Grace

Miriam is a third culture Nigerian filmmaker and actor, who made and acted in this film. As an actor, she studied Meisner with Jim Brill of the Neighborhood Playhouse. As President of the Miriam Agwai fan club, Brit Pooler was honored to step out of retirement and be a part of this film.

Joanna McGibbon | The Production Coordinator

Joanna is a lawyer by day, and amateur actor by night. She spends her time supporting human rights causes, fighting for women's empowerment, reading, binge watching TV, and obsessively waiting for new episodes of Grey's Anatomy. 

Joshua Spencer Boone | Guy on the Train

Joshua Spencer Boone was born in South Jersey and raised in South Florida. An accomplished singer, Joshua decided to try his luck in The Big Apple where he found a passion for acting. Anika Maxwell | Michael’s Friend

Anika Maxwell is a freelance producer focusing on telling stories from unique perspectives that are not represented in mainstream media. She studied film and television production at NYU Tisch. Szalene Anthony | Michael’s Friend

Szalene Anthony has played it all from a troll (East of the Sun; 2012), to a pirate (Kid Kristy; 2015), to a vengeful killer (Wheelchair; 2017). She most recently completed her first leading role as Alicia in Balances, which featured in the 2019 Emerging Artists New Works Theater Festival. Her latest film, DisordHer, is set to screen at the San Diego African American Film Festival and is set to premier on streaming platforms late 2020. She made her writing and directorial debut with the short film Sis which can be streamed on her website. Miriam Agwai | Director, Producer & Writer

Yup, you read that right. Miriam who plays “Grace” in this film also wrote, directed and produced it. She graduated from the School of Visual Arts’ Film and Video programme with honours like a baddie, and has worked in advertising, TV and film production, and TV post-production. As an overachieving third culture Nigerian, Miriam is passionate about storytelling and hopes to create spaces where people feel seen and heard. Aiko Morikawa | Assistant Director

Aiko Morikawa was born in Japan, and moved to the US to study film production. She spends her time working on creative projects with a focus on visual storytelling.

Tiffany Perez | Production Coordinator

Tiffany, born into the hustle and bustle of what New York City is and has to offer, always has her eyes on the specifics. Nothing is impossible, and everything can be done with intention and care. Her attention to the details and her understanding of the broad picture is what makes her excited to be able to work on projects, especially work in which empowers and sparks someone’s creativity. Kevin Kim | 1st AC/Camera Operator

Otter Moore | Camera Operator

Growing up in south Louisiana, Aaron “Otter” Moore discovered a passion for movies and photography at a young age, which eventually led him to New Orleans to pursue the film industry. From PA, to Grip, to DP, he then made the move to New York. He currently lives in Queens with his wife and two daughters, always searching for stories to tell and cold brew. 

JC Calubayan | Gaffer

JC Calubayan was born and raised in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. With a strong passion for personal narratives grounded in people and the world around them, and a keen eye for composition, mood, and fine details, he strives to craft stories that are engaging on an emotional & visual level. JC currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, where he works primarily as a set lighting technician, and continues to nurture his passion for cinematography and film photography.

Sean Booker | Production Sound Mixer

Sean is a lover of all things sound with a passion to create incredible audio for films, games, or anything in between. If he's not working in front of his computer, he might be found hiking around upstate New York to capture sounds of nature.

Kamilah Bryan | Wardrobe

Kamilah Bryan was born & raised in New York City. Kamilah has been a fashion stylist since was 17 year old. She started a small business selling thrifted and vintage clothing with her online boutique “Kb In Your Closet”. In addition, Kamilah has worked on plays, off Broadway shows, and independent films.

Samara Catherine | Make-up Consultant

Samara Catherine is a New York City based freelance make-up artist and entrepreneur whose passion it is to help people at any level create or elevate their personal style with makeup. She is the founder of Ella Es Cosmetics, a start-up line of cosmetics for women of color in Latin America and has made it her mission to recognize, educate and celebrate women of color across the globe.


Post-Production


Willie Westone | Post-Production Co-ordinator

Born and raised in New York City, Willie Westone attended Brooklyn College for Film Production and completed the Made In NY PA program. This launched his career into television production. Willie has been a freelance post coordinator on various programs and is currently working at AMC Networks. While holding down a network job pays the bills, Willie still stretches his creative muscles by working on personal projects that include photography and screenwriting. 

Joshua Lawson | Music Composer

Joshua Lawson is an aspiring composer with an eclectic background. He started writing music at 12 and taught himself how to play the piano. After learning to produce music digitally he joined a hip hop group as a singer at the age of 19. Currently training in classical voice and piano as well as music technology at  LACC’s Herb Alpert Music Academy. He draws inspiration from many genres including electronic, indie, and chiptunes. Currently he is improving his portfolio to eventually audition for Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California where he is currently employed.

Andrew Guastella | Re-recording Mixer

Gina Girodier | Online Assistant Editor

Gina Girodier is an assistant editor and all-around post-production wiz. A (junior) veteran of the industry, she has worked on a variety of content ranging from narrative short films to episodic doc/reality series. Her resume includes work at NBC, ITV, and Netflix. Although she’s worked with a number of different editing platforms, she prefers Avid Media Composer because she’s fancy. She insists it’s no shade to Adobe Premiere or Final Cut.

Selamawit Worku | Film Poster Graphic Designer

Selamawit Worku is an Ethiopian-American tri-lingual actor, singer and producer. Raised in Northern Virginia and currently based in Brooklyn, she has been developing her skills as a creative storyteller through various projects. Her mission is to amplify the nuanced experiences of black identity, immigrants, and womanhood as a storyteller using the mediums of film, theater, and writing.
